The Holistic Healing Project

A path to healing.
People beside you.

A four-month program for U.S. military veterans, bringing ten healing modalities and two in-person retreats into one connected experience.

HHP Cohort 1 · Pierre, South Dakota · August 2026

The heart of the project

Every veteran brings
a different story.

There is no single way to move toward healing. The Holistic Healing Project brings ten complementary modalities into a six-month program for U.S. military veterans, with in-person retreats at the midpoint and end.

The project is led by veterans and trusted practitioners, delivered with more than 40 partner organizations, and built to be trauma-informed from the first call. You bring your own starting point and questions. The first conversation is exactly that, a conversation, not an application.

Reconnect

A different setting.
A different kind of moment.

Beside a horse. On a river. Out in the open. These experiences bring the journey into places where there is room to notice, participate, and connect.

Music & Creative Arts Therapy

Spiritual Development & Meaning-Based Practices

Music and art therapy create space for expression, exploration, and personal meaning. The process belongs to the person creating.

Space to explore values, purpose, connection, and what gives life personal meaning.

A melody shared. An idea taking shape. A moment to consider what matters. Creative and meaning-based practices make room for personal expression.

Music · Art therapy · Meaning

Room for your
own expression.

A song. A color. A shape. An experience does not have to become a polished performance to have meaning.

Carry it forward

The story belongs
to the veteran.

In a veteran's own words

The part of the story
only they can tell.

What brought you here? Which experience mattered? What did you carry into everyday life?

VETERAN STORY PLACEHOLDER

Add an approved first-person story

A short captioned interview, or a portrait with the veteran's own words. This is a space for a real account, not a sample testimonial.

Space to reflect

What stays with you?

Each veteran brings individual needs, experiences, and hopes. The project holds space for that whole story across its practices and relationships.

Brain Health & Cognitive Recovery Support

A place for brain health, cognitive needs, and everyday goals within a broader, individual healing journey.

From survival mode to regulation. Breath, biofeedback, and movement that teach the body it is safe to stand down.

A connection that matters.
A practice worth returning to.
A next step that feels your own.

A moment at a retreat is part of a larger life. What matters is what each veteran takes from the experience: a connection, a practice, or a next step that has personal meaning.

For veterans & families

Start with
your questions.

You may be exploring for yourself or looking for information for someone you care about. A conversation with The Ranch is the next step toward understanding the program.

For donors & supporters

Support the work
around each moment.

WHAT IT COVERS

The full cost of a seat.

Flights, lodging, meals, program fees, and gear for one veteran at a retreat. Nothing stands between them and the ranch.

This link supports The Ranch Foundation’s broader Veteran Healing Fund. To discuss a gift specifically for HHP, contact the team.

WHAT IT BUILDS

Four months, not a weekend.

Coaching, mentorship, and ten modalities in one coordinated program, with two in-person retreats and a cohort that stays in touch.

For partners & sponsors

Bring your strengths
to the conversation.

Interested in sponsorship, professional expertise, facilities, or other resources? Discuss current needs and fit with The Ranch.

Ask about program delivery, current funding needs, and available impact reporting.

WHAT YOU RECEIVE

Proof, not promises.

Cohort updates and reporting on how your gift was used. What changed for a veteran is shared in their own words, only with their approval.

The Holistic Healing Project runs on sponsorship. Every seat has a real cost, and every gift to The Ranch Foundation, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit, is tax-deductible. Here is what your support does.

We won't leave you behind.

Your next step
can start here.

Whether you are exploring the project for yourself, supporting someone you love, or helping make this work possible, there is a place to begin the conversation.
